I'm excited about my flower garden this year because for the first time ever it has more living plants in it than dead ones! This is due in large part to my loving husband who has installed a sprinkler system that keeps them alive and to our neighbors who lend us their very green thumbs at times.
A little flower trivia that I thought was interesting is that the color of hydrangea blossoms has to due to the pH of the soil and not of the plant itself. This picture is of a plant that is in my front yard. It blooms pink because we have placed lime in the soil to make it alkaline. 
These are some cutting from a bush in our back yard that blooms blue because we put some fertilizer in the soil to make it more acidic. (If the soil is neutral it blooms green- which this bush did last year.) Of course our neighbor has a beautiful hydrangea in which the blooms are so deep they almost look purple, but I'll just be happy that mine actually turned different colors and won't worry about the blooms that are always deeper on the other side of the fence!
