Mother's Day

We got to spend this Mother's day with Grammy Teipen.

We had fun relaxing and going to the beach. The best kids in the world surprised me with an ipod! I'll post a picture of me jammin' with it in later on ;-)

Riding

Daddy got to go horse back riding with his friend Jr. Phillips last week. He loved it of course!
(The Phillip's youngest daughter Mary Catherine took all these pictures, unless she is in them. She turned out to be quite the photographer! Thanks Mary Catherine!)
The kids got to ride when the horses got back. Maddie petting Casey's horse.
Jr. giving Madaline a ride around the pasture.

Sam up on the gate. He thought he was big stuff for sure!

He just loved being out in the country and running around.

Casey on her horse.
(She is a very sweet girl and the kids babysitter)

Mary Catherine and Maddie making mud pies!

Maddie getting a ride back from the barn by Mary Catherine.
Thanks so much for a very fun and relaxing evening!

Painting

The kids had a lot of fun last week painting some ceramic pots. They have been begging to paint something since I painted some stars on Sam's walls a few weeks ago. They did very good and kept most of the paint on the pots or the newspaper!

A serious fisherman....and Maddie!

We took the kids fishing this past Friday night at a freshwater pond at Frank Brown Park. It was a lot of fun. They only caught turtles, which was fine with them. We all had fun spending time as a family in between Daddy's cramming for finals. Sam would cast and reel it in slow just like troy taught him. It was funny to watch how good he was at it. He does need to work on checking his surroundings since he hooked me in the leg on one cast.....
Sam is very serious about his fishing and could have stayed long past the 2 hours we spent there. He is pretty self sufficient as well. Maddie on the other hand needed help with the worms and the casting and the holding of the pole and the reeling.

She was more content to pose for pictures..."Mommy take my pictures over here!" And take pictures with Mommy. She also loved running to a park bench and back talking to her imaginary friend and doing different ballerina moves! Sometimes the differences between boys and girls are very evident!
