Firsts

Yesterday we had 2 firsts...Megan got her first hair cut!
She has a ton of hair and it was really uneven in the back. Our hairdresser just trimmed it up straight.
She didn't like it at all.....
After that Maddie had her first soccer practice and she loved it!

This will be her first year to play and she is very excited. Her teammates were all very friendly and she liked her coach a lot.
This is her team running drills. (she is in the pink and blue) It had rained in the afternoon and they were sloshing through puddles the whole time! We are looking forward to a fun season!

Naval Aviation Museum

This past Monday Troy had to be in Pensacola so we made a family field trip out of it and had a lot of fun. We took the kids to the Naval Aviation Museum . We have been lots of times, but this time got to do a few things that made it different and exciting.
This is Maddie and Sam posing with the big jet outside. They were flying the flags at half mast in honor of the Colorado shooting victims.
When we got there I was starving ( I blame this one the baby!) so we ate at the little restaurant they have there. The kids really enjoyed looking around at all the memorabilia. They especially liked for us to read them the "call names" of the pilots.
Getting into the planes is always a big hit. I'm pretty sure we sat in them all!
Sam has been very interested in the Blue Angles. He enjoyed seeing the planes and learning a little bit about them.
Even Megan got in on the action. I'm pretty sure she didn't care what she sat in as long as it wasn't her stroller!
Troy took the older 2 kids to see their first IMAX movie. It was called "Air Racers" and the loved it! It's really great that the museum charges no admission; It leaves money to take in the extras!
Since we had been there last (about 1 year ago), they had opened a new part of the museum called the "Hanger". It was a large building with all sorts of new planes we hadn't seen before. This one was huge! Maddie and Sam are standing by the tire in this picture. They also had a plane that President George Bush flew in and a Presidential helicopter. We all had a great time and then drove over to Destin for shopping and dinner. It was good to just take a little time away and relax!

Accesories!

Megan loves accessories!
We find her in different hats, shoes, necklaces, and sunglasses constantly.
She loves to be "pretty" and is picking up some on the way Maddie and Sam dress. For instance last week Sam was wearing a ball cap and she ran up and put on a stocking hat and wore it most of the day.
This week when I have been getting her dressed in the morning she wants to see the outfit I'm holding. Then she will say "I don't like that!" Really? Before she is 2! I have gently reminded her Momma knows best and we get dressed anyway but I have found her sense of style a little bit funny!
In this picture she is wearing Maddie's crocs...Maddies shoes are never safe and she can even walk around fairly well in my heals!
Oh Megan!
Funny Funny Megan!
( Can you tell we have been reading some "Dick and Jane!")

A quick update....

This is going to be a very quick update on what has been going on in our life over the last month....
This is my baby brother Josh. He married a sweet girl named Haylee on June 23rd. We all went up to IN for the wedding and had a great time with family and friends.
Sam was the ring bearer. He looked cute and did a great job.
This is a shot of our family at the wedding. It seems somehow that Troy and I just got married, so where did all these kids come from ???
Josh and Haylee are very happy...see their smiling faces?

 This is my Momma.
She was happy too, maybe because I found her the perfect dress for the wedding, or maybe because her baby boy was very happy, or maybe because Josh was telling jokes during the dance....hard to tell.
After spending 10 days or so back home we headed back to FL and were in a bad car accident. It was bad because it was scary. (Not nearly as scary as dealing with Insurance agents we have recently found out, but very scary none the less) Maddie hit her head on the window and had to be transported by ambulance to the hospital, but she is fine now. Just had headaches for a few days. The scariest thing was that we spun into oncoming traffic. We are thankful that no one was hurt worse, and maybe after 6 weeks or so we will have two vehicles again!
In other news...this little one is on the way. We are expecting baby #4 the first week of January. I'm glad to be out of the first trimester and hope that most of the morning sickness is behind me. Everyone is very excited to meet the new little one and Sam and Maddie are full of questions. ("Can the baby see this movie, because it might be too scary for him?" "How does the baby eat the food that is in your belly?") We are looking forward to the rest of this year and all the adventures it will hold!
