In the Pool

Maddie- swimming like a fish as always.
Sam- definitely safety first and has to have the goggles on top of his head.
It's finally warm enough to get in the pool! The kids took advantage of it and swam 3 days last week. Mommy took advantage of it too and got a little tan.

Picking Strawberries on the Farm

This week we went to the strawberry farm! It's a highlight of our year. The kids love to pick the berries and eat them! They also really enjoy the animals they get to see. This year they got to see baby chickens, turkeys, a peacock, cows, geese, pigs, goats and honey bees.

A Little visitor

On Sunday night Daddy found this little guy on our front pourch! Sam kept calling it a frog....next goal teach Sam his animals!
This is as close to the turtle as Sam would get! Troy released it into the woods on Monday becasue it was heading toward the road.

Spring Flowers

Maddie and Sam got a surprise visit on Saturday from our good friends and neighbors Don and Mary. They brought the kids each a bouquet from their garden! The flowers were beautiful and some fresh rosemary made them smell amazing. The kids thought it was very special!

Egg Hunt

The kids had a great time hunting eggs in the back yard!
Sam found lots of eggs! Can you tell by his little red cheeks it's getting hot down here?

The loot! The kids have enough candy to last until Christmas!

Ready for Church

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord. We had a great Church service and then Easter dinner with friends and family. The kids enjoyed an egg hunt in the back yard and then afternoon naps! They had Easter baskets and tons of candy. Aunt Melinda made a wonderful carrot cake. We are truly blessed and very thankful!
All ready for church. We had some wardrobe malfunctions on Sunday morning, but were still able to all look somewhat coordinated in the end.

Daddy and Sam looking quite dashing!Maddie looking very springy!
Lets pause for a mom moment......
"This is the cutest little face I've every seen! He melts my heart right here! Where did my baby go?"
Now back to reality......
It took me like 20 minutes and numerous threats to get Sam in this outfit...he was saying things like "I don't want to go to church!" "I don't want to be matching daddy!" A few times he got away from me and had the tie removed before I could catch him. (I was trying to dress the kids, get myself ready and get dinner ready for 14 people all before Sunday school.) By the time I got him wrestled down and dressed I was sweating! Then I call Maddie in to get dressed and I couldn't get her dress zipped....lets just say I should have tried it on before the actual day! I was about to tell her to suck it in and take one for the team but there was just no way her very beautiful pink frilly dress was going to fit....So up to Maddie's closet we went found this dress, off with my pink shirt (that matched the frilly dress) and on with the blue....not working well.... so on with the green shirt you see in the picture. Praise the Lord Melinda and Joshua were here! Josh swept the carpet (Easter grass every where!!) and entertained the kids while Melinda glazed the ham and finished things for dinner. So we made it to church on time(we did miss Sunday school) the house was still standing and close to clean and as soon as Sam walked into nursery they removed the suit coat so everyone was happy! So I hope you all enjoy this picture of Sam in a suit because I may never attempt it again!

Getting ready for Easter

On Friday we made sugar cookies and dyed eggs for Easter. The kids had a great time with Aunt Melinda and Philip and our friends Jen, Lola and Amelia! The kids rolling out the dough.Getting ready to dye the eggs...no one got too messy so that was good!

Maddie wrote on her eggs with crayon first to make a cool effect.

Sam using the blue dye.
The finished product! Sam and Philip wanted to throw them like balls...must be a boy thing!

Atlanta

Last weekend we went to Atlanta for Pastor Hugh's ordination. We had a great time shopping on Saturday and attending the ordination on Sunday. It was a quick trip, but it's always good to spend time with friends.
