It has begun....

Since we have officially run out of room in this house, Troy has begun a project to convert our garage into living space. He drew up some pretty awesome plans thanks to his new blueprints design class and it will be very nice when he is done- which will hopefully be by August.

This will open up some room for me to have a school room/sewing room for the kids and I. Also Troy will have a sperate area to study. Just like every project we have done on this house we have stated this will be the last big project we do. I guess we will just have to see :-)

Pitch and Catch

Sam and Daddy have been working on baseball skills. He is getting pretty good! I think he will be ready to play when he is old enough.

Valentines Day

I guess I'm a little late getting this post up, but still wanted to document it! We had a good Valentines day. The kids got lots of sugar and some homemade Valentines, which are the best in my opinion!
These are the beautiful flowers that Maddie gave me for Valentines day. Such a sweet girl! After ballet on Monday, we went to Krispy Kreme and got to pick a doughnut which is a pretty big treat! Maddie's Sunday School teacher had given her little gift cards for 2 doughnuts and a Hot Chocolate which the kids split.
Sam loves any kind of sugar and when he was told he had had too much sugar on Valentines Day he replied "But I LOVE too much sugar!"

In between work and school Daddy came home and we had a yummy dinner. Megan didn't want to cooperate for this picture, but I still think it turned out cute. I guess she had had enough Valentines day fun!

Headphones

This is Sam's new past time while Maddie finishes her Kindergarten work. The headphones crack me up!

Lovin' it!

Megan is loving her baby food! I guess now that she has her first tooth she needs something to eat.

My Valentine!

Troy and I went out on a date for Valentines Day on Saturday. Guess where we went? Yep- LOWES! We are starting a big remodel project and had lots of fun looking through some options for the house without the kids. I think this may be our home away from home for the next few months. I'm looking forward to having more room in the house and Troy is looking forward to putting some of his new drafting/construction skills to work. Don't worry, we also went to dinner at a nice restaurant and even did some other shopping. A big Thank you to Papa and Ms. Mary for watching the kiddos!

Remember When

Last night Megan didn't sleep well. Mama didn't sleep well either. When I was up in the night at the hours of 11, 1, 3 and then 6 I was thinking about a blog post I wanted to do. I wish I had been sleeping, but since I wasn't, I thought it would be cute to do a post about every Valentine Day Troy and I had spent together. I could actually remember the first 2, then life becomes a blur. I thought I would go back through pictures and remember all the Valentine dates we had gone on, but I couldn't find any pictures to document that we had gone out either. This is what I found....Valentines Day 2003.
Troy sent me 23 roses while he was stationed in the middle East. They arrived on the 15th of February. There is still some discussion over whether he forgot Valentines Day or was just mixed up because of the huge time difference. (Please forgive the poor quality of this picture that was actually scanned from a scrapbook.)

Valentines Day 2004.
This was actually Troy and my original wedding date. We moved the wedding to December 27th, 2003 when Troy got early orders home from Bahrain. We couldn't move our honeymoon so we were in Jamaica for this Valentines Day. We had to fly out of Indy for our trip and we stayed at my parents over night. I got Mono form my sister while we were there and was very sick for the next 4 months. (Not as sick as Melinda was from the illness by any means and I'm not blaming her for that transmission at all because I know I didn't kiss her- just the facts people!)
(Please overlook how squishy my arm appears in the picture...I think Troy was just gripping it extra hard or it was a bad camera angle or something.)Valentines Day 2005
We are 8 months pregnant now with Madaline and anxiously awaiting her arrival which occurred exactly one month later. (Ok- we all know why I look squishy in this picture)Valentines Day 2006.
Madaline is now 11 months old and I'm about 8 weeks pregnant with Sam. (I'm beginning to realize why these years seemed like a blur...)Valentines Day 2007.
Look at these cuties!Valentines Day 2008 and 2009.
And the cuties are getting bigger. And Valentine Day 2010.
Maddie is almost five Sam is three and little Megan is on her way.
It is curious to me that these are the pictures that were taken on Valentines Day. (I'll document this years festivities in a seperate post) Last night Troy and I did go out for Valentines Day, and I do remember that we went to the restaurant the 'firefly' one year. I guess I'm just better at taking picture of the kids than I am of documenting the dates Troy and I go on! Since Valentine's Day is all about love, this post seems very appropriate because it is full of people I love <3>

Winter Blues?

This week we have been.....Crying over school....
Crying over toys.....

and crying over teeth!
And Momma has been eating lots of ice cream when the kids are finally in bed! Hopefully the weather will warm up soon so we can get out a little and soak up some sunshine!

6 Months....

Since Megan turned 6 months this week (sigh), I thought I would do some picture comparisons and see who she is looking more like. I actually found pictures of all the kids in their exersaucer which makes for a good comparison. Megan Joy 2/2011 (6 months)Samuel Alexander 3/2007 (6 months) Madaline Hope 10/2005 (almost 7 months)
I think she definitely looks more like Sam. What do you all think?

Savings

Since I'm new to couponing I was pretty excited about this weeks deals. I told Troy when I started this little endeavor that I didn't want to buy things just because they were cheap. This week I did get a few things free because of other things I bought that we won't use, but I'm planning on donating them to the crisis pregnancy center and our church's food bank. Total spent $116.32 after tax.
Total saved $109.62- plus I got $14 in gift cards back for a total savings of
$123.62.
The best deals I got on things we will use-
1. Big box of huggies for $14 each (huggies wipes FREE!)
2. 1 gallon of milk- free
3. Flintstone vitamins for the kids- .74 cents each
4. Gillette razor with 2 blades- .99 cents

Great deals to donate-
1. 3 packs of kotex- .19 cents total

So this is my third week using coupons and so far it has been a positive experience- I'm hoping to get better at it so it doesn't take so much time.
