6 Months

Marla Grace is kicking up her heals because she is 6 months old now!
She is a happy little one and full of smiles and coos. She is working on some teeth so that has her chewing on everything!
She rolls and scoots where she wants to go. I find her all over the place in her crib. At the Dr a few weeks ago she was 14 lbs and we have moved her up to 6-9 month clothes. She still won't eat any solid food, won't take breast milk from a bottle..she just loves her momma!
She gets lots of love from her siblings as well. Sam loves to hold her and make her laugh. Maddie thinks she is a human baby doll and wraps her in blankets and snuggles her. Meg loves to bring her toys and gives her lots of sweet hugs. She seems to love all the attention!
So thankful for this precious little one :-)

The 4th

What can you do on the 4th of July when it has been raining for days (around 20 inches yesterday!) and all festivities are canceled because people are now using the streets to kayak on?
1. Build with Legos while dressed as Batman
 2. Paint invisible ink American flags (make sure you taste the lemon juice first!)
 3. Work on your rolling and cutting of teeth (so glad I got this great picture of Meg's hand since avoiding the camera seemed to be her goal!)
 4. Prepare and enjoy some red, white and blue treats
5. Enjoy an impromptu firework display provided by the neighbor during the one hour rain break at dusk!

Happy Birthday America!!

Creativity

Well, It's summer. It's H-o-t. It rains a lot in the afternoons. So we have found ourselves getting creative, especially during afternoon quiet times. Maddie and Sam have been having tons of fun with their Legos. We have also been reading LOTS of books. Weekly library trips are our summer norm. (I have personally become addicted to the author Dee Henderson. I read at least one of her books a week, so the Library trips are really for me!)
We made some "moon sand" out of cornstarch and shaving cream Contrary to all the reviews this was a huge mess! The kids did have fun with it and we even made it again, but on the outside table where my hose could do the clean up!

And we made some sidewalk chalk paint. This was a fun twist to the regular sidewalk chalk. My kids love to paint so having the entire outdoors as their canvas was fun! And then they cleaned it off with the hose and a water fight broke out ect....
Sure are loving this sweet summer time:-)
