Daddy had to take a test this past weekend in Pensacola so the kids and I tagged along. Maddie, Sam and I killed the two hours of his test at the Naval Aviation Museum. The kids had been there before, but this time they were much older and enjoyed it alot more.
There were some new exhibits since we had been there that the kids really enjoyed. They had a town set up from the 1950's complete with a grocery store, house, barber shop ect... The kids noticed lots of things like no TV in the house, the washing machine was on the back porch, and the grocery store was very different than what they are used to.
One of the favorite things to do there is be able to climb into lots of different planes. The kids got in every one I'm pretty sure!
They also had a play ground set up that looked like a mini aircraft carrier. It had slides and climbing ropes, steering wheels. We spent a good hour just playing on this! Sam mastered the sliding pole and was very proud of himself!
Lastly a picture of Maddie manning the big guns. Sam was really into all the guns too and enjoyed seeing the video footage of planes being shot down in war...must be a boy thing. He kept saying "Those are the bad guy planes...right?" It's really a great museum and admission is free. We recommend it if you are ever in the Pensacola area.
